The Brill Razorcut 38 Push Mower
The BRILL Razorcut 38 is the best push reel mower we’ve found!

Engineered and made in Germany, the Razorcut's silent cut blades miss the cutting bed  by less than a millimeter as they rotate with virtually no friction or resistance.  This means less effort pushing the mower through the grass.  With reduced friction, blades need sharpening less often and with normal use will not need sharpening for 10 years or more!  The BRILL mower is so silent you can carry on a conversation or call the dog while cutting the grass.

Ultra light weight, the Brill Razorcut can be hung in the garage or tool shed with one hand.  The light weight and large 8 inch diameter treaded wheels gives you more control over the mower making cutting slopes or inclines less challenging.

Forget about running out of gas, the hassle of oil, the loud noise and hard to start power mower engines while at the same time doing something nice for the environment.  Enjoy the smell of fresh air and grass without all those exhaust fumes.  Foam rubber ergonomic padded handles. The 5 blade reel is the optimum for cutting and reducing resistance for a push mower.

The Brill Razorcut is recommended for small to medium sized yards, narrow boulevards or hard to reach terraces.  Not recommended for Bermuda, St. Augustine or Zoysia grasses that can be found in the southern states.

Cutting width is 15.2 inches.  The cutting height is adjustable from .7 inches for that golf course look to 1.8 inches for the average length for most grasses.    When done mowing or at season’s end, the handle folds for quick storage with just a few turns of the orange set knobs.

Mower comes fully assembled except for the handle that comes in three pieces and requires no tools to put together. Out of the box and into the yard in about 10 minutes.
Optional closed grass catcher will collect clipping and reduce thatch in your lawn.

I live in the city with medium sized urban yard and terraced back lawn. This mower is just great. Light and compact. Very good quality and the cut is perfect! I recommend.

I loved this product until it needed sharpening. I noticed after 4 years of use I was chopping and hacking away at the grass instead of mowing it. I have taken good care of the mower and cleaned and dried it after every use. I also use WD40 once or twice a season and adjust the action of the blades. The problem is there is apparently nowhere to send this mower for sharpening. It takes a special process, and is not something that can be done by a local handyman. I am in the market again this year for a reel mower and will not purchase a Brill. I am planning on replacing it with an old fashioned, heavier mower like my grandfather used to use that I can (like him) sharpen myself. Unless someone can help me find a Brill Service Center in the continental US or elsewhere for that matter (oddly enough there is not even a number to call in the owner's manual) I will have to throw the thing away. I won't even try to sell it at a garage sale because even though it looks brand new now that it needs sharpening it could turn off a potential green mower for good.

How do I sharpen this? It's not cutting well after just a couple of years of use and I need to find someplace to sharpen it. I live in Minnesota -- can anybody help? carolynhalbur@gmail.com

I purchased this mower from bluestonegarden.com and never really got it to work right. After a few phone calls with customer service trying to get it to cut better and push easier I gave up and sent it back. I purchased the wolf garten mower instead and personally found that mower to work much better. It is just a couple pounds heaver but still much easier to push and i think the extra weight actually helps cut thicker/taller patches better.
