The Basic line of greenhouses is extremely affordable and is designed for the urban or suburban gardener with limited space. The Basic 450 is perfect for extending the season: starting seedlings, propagating plants, and overwintering plants that are marginally hardy in your area.
All greenhouses in this series feature aluminum framing and 4mm polycarbonate panels. The design is unique because the panels are actually enclosed by the aluminum framework, eliminating the need for gaskets, clips, or caulking.
About the glazing:
Our polycarbonate panels have many advantages. The twin wall construction features air channels that create an insulating effect, much like the thermal windows in your home. This promotes more even temperatures within the greenhouse, which provides better growing conditions for your plants. Our polycarbonate also has UV-resistant coating to prevent sun damage. It is virtually unbreakable.
Anchoring the greenhouse:
All greenhouses must be attached to a base or foundation for stability and support. An optional galvanized steel base is available for this model. (You might also choose to build a foundation from 6X6 landscape timbers or brick.)
Our bases are designed to fit each greenhouse perfectly.
They are made from durable, rust-proof galvanized steel, and all the fittings needed for assembly are included – just pour a concrete footer for each steel spike in the base.
